This is a clone of one of our favourite British beers from masters of the pale ale Verdant Brewing Co in Cornwall. It's a 6.5% NEIPA with thick and creamy mouthfeel and a refreshing lemon, mango and grapefruit aroma thanks to a hefty dry hop right after active fermentation with Citra, Chinook and Centennial.
This is based on the original 'Sharks' Verdant launched in 2016. For our clone of the current version with Citra and Galaxy see here.
Note: You will want to adjust your water profile and get it nice and soft for this brew. James Heffron (Head Brewer at Verdant) recommends adding Calcium Chloride (limited to 100ppm) to the mash water and Sodium Chloride during the boil. We recommend 250-300ppm Chloride and 90-100ppm Sulphate (Gypsum).
If you haven't tried 'Sharks' we highly recommend you get a few cans in for your brew day and, if you can, get down to Falmouth to experience their incredible taproom! Ensure you stay at Seven Stars Brew Pub with Rooms which is only a 30 minute walk on the way but MUCH quicker on the way back :)
Malt: Golden Promise, Flaked Barley, Torrefied Wheat, Flaked Oats, Caramalt
Hops: Centennial, Chinook, Citra, Columbus, Magnum
Yeast: LalBrew Verdant IPA
